Welcome to Aura Farm! Aura Farm is a small farm owned by Dale and Susan Krageschmidt. Our farm is in Winona County, Minnesota near the communites of Dakota and Nodine. The farm is located approximately half way between Winona, MN and La Crosse, WI and 40 miles east of Rochester, MN. We specialize in the breeding, raising and training of fine-fibered Argentine and Argentine-type llamas. Rebaño Escondido (RE)

You may have noticed that some of our llamas have the prefix "RE" in their pedigrees.  The RE is the abbreviation for Rebaño Escondido, which means hidden herd in Spanish.  Llamas with this abbreviation in their name have genetics from a small, Argentine-type llama herd in a Chilean valley on the Argentina border.  Our beautiful appy dam, Free Spirit, is half Argentine and half Chilean (Rebaño Escondido).

In the early 1990s, Paul and Sally Taylor imported a limited number of fine-fibered,  heavy-boned "RE" llamas from Chile and incorporated them into their herd.  All of the Argentine and Chilean llamas in North America can be traced back to the hard work and persistence of the Taylors.  Obviously, we love Argentines and Argentine-type llamas and we thank the Taylors for discovering and sharing these beautiful animals with llama breeders throughout North America!  Here are a couple of links to read more about Rebaño Escondido llamas and the adventures of the Taylors.
